How to Stop Your Desk Job from Killing Your Back

Desk jobs are often viewed as comfortable, low-risk occupations that are easy on the body. After all, you stay all day indoors. You don’t have to move heavy objects or operate dangerous equipment. What could go wrong?

A lot, it turns out.

Our bodies are not designed to sit all the time. We’re meant to stand, move, and stretch. Staying in the same seated position starts to take a toll on the body. Whether you’re working from an actual office or the comfort of your home, a desk job can negatively impact your body very quickly.

For starters, since you’re not moving around, you’re not burning any calories throughout the workday. That alone can lead to muscle loss, weight gains, general stiffness, and more. But it’s not just your body that suffers.

Be Proactive and Protect Your Back

If you work at a desk, you can take actions both in and out of the office to protect your back. Here are the top seven things you can start doing right now to avoid future pain:

  1. Exercise your core two to three times each week. Your core includes your abdominal, back and pelvis muscles. While there are dozens of core exercises available to protect your back, the most common are variations of the plank, sit-up, bridge and crunch. Ask your trainer or physical therapist for the proper technique for each.

  2. Make sure your office situation is ergonomic. Ergonomics is the science of optimizing products for human use. In an office environment, ergonomics includes everything from the height of your desk and chair to the positioning of your keyboard, phone and monitor. When it comes to ergonomics, a good rule of thumb is if it looks or feels awkward, do something about it.

  3. Protect your back by investing in a good office chair. You probably spend a third of your day in that chair, so make sure it feels comfortable. Your office chair height should be adjusted so your feet are flat on the floor or on a footrest, and your thighs are parallel to the floor. If you have armrests, use them. Your arms should lightly rest on them while your shoulders are relaxed. Many office chairs include some type of lumbar support. Having no or inadequate lumbar support puts excess pressure on your spine.

  4. Consider a standing desk. Desks that you stand at rather than sit behind come and go in popularity, but they’re actually a good option for keeping your back healthy. Before you make the investment, however, ask a coworker who has one if you can try it out for a day.

  5. Sit up straight. Good posture is not simply an old wives’ tale. If you tend to slouch forward or lean back at your desk, you’re likely putting your spine out of alignment. Place your monitor at eye level to improve your posture while sitting and keep reminders nearby about maintaining a straight back.

  6. Take periodic breaks. Get up every now and then to stretch your entire body. While standing, reach for the ceiling, then touch your toes and repeat. Just a minute or two stretching each hour can do wonders to protect your back.

  7. Take a walk when you’re done. After a long day of working in the office, try to resist the urge of going home and sitting again. You’ve just been sitting for eight or nine hours, not including your commute. By standing, walking, or even lying down on your stomach, you provide your spine with a change of position.

Upper Cervical Chiropractic – The Solution for Chronic Back Pain

Before you think nothing else can help your back pain, we would like to introduce you to upper cervical chiropractic, a chiropractic subspecialty. What makes it unique? This is a very gentle, precise, and specialized form of chiropractic care.

Focus

This form of therapy takes a closer look at the top bone in the neck, the atlas. The atlas balances the head, and the rest of the spine will shift and compensate if this vertebra is not properly aligned. Changes and pain in your back can occur if the atlas is out of alignment by just fractions of a millimeter. Over time, the changes reach the lower back. They can be worse enough to have an impact on the SI joint or sciatic nerve. These are some of the culprits for intense lower back pain.

Gentle

Upper cervical chiropractic does not involve any rapid twisting or cracking of the back and neck. Every adjustment only uses low force, which is less shocking on the body. This means the body will cooperate, and not work against the adjustment. The body will have more time to stabilize and heal, making adjustments longer-lasting. They can hold for weeks or months.

Precision

Upper cervical chiropractors are trained to discover a misalignment in the atlas. It requires precision to get the exact location and fraction of misalignment. They do it through the help of diagnostic imaging and x-rays. They will use measurements taken from this equipment to come up with a customized adjustment and care plan for patients.

Can wearing a backpack cause spine problems?

What is one common problem that children across the globe face from school? The answer is chronic back pain that comes from lugging a heavy backpack around all day long – aka backpack pain. Too many kids have multiple books, folders, binders, and importantly, a heavy computer, weighing them down as they walk from class to class or from home to school. It is unhealthy for anyone to have that much weight on their back, in fact, it is recommended to have a maximum of 5-10% of the student’s body weight in their backpack. This recommendation tends to be unrealistic when it comes to the demands of an average school day; especially, with children wearing their backpacks in unconventional ways (one strap on their shoulder etc.). So, what is the fix to prevent back pain from backpacks? Although people might not initially consider it for a child, chiropractic care can help with this issue.

A simple way to know if the backpack is too heavy is if your child is struggling to put the backpack on! Also, a sign that the bag is too heavy is if they are no longer walking upright, but instead lean their torso forward to attempt to counterbalance the load.  Remember to clean out the backpack often as clutter leads to unnecessary weight. Try to have them minimize what they are bringing to and from school.

What you could do as a parent to help?

As a parent you should ensure that the weight of your child’s backpack should not exceed 10-15% of his or her body weight. Apart from this you should provide your child with bags that have multiple components. You must also consider bags with tightened, padded straps worn on both shoulders. This will ensure better distribution of the overall weight. As a student your child may also have to be seated at the desk over prolonged periods. Thus you must encourage him or her to sit with the right posture. Otherwise in case if your child is prone to slouching, rounding the shoulders, or protruding the head forward may experience further pain as a result.

Consulting an experienced chiropractor for lower back pain

While drugs/medication/opioids can help reduce the pain by turning off the pain receptors, it doesn’t actually solve the problem; it just masks it.

Your body is a great machine that can actually heal itself in a lot of cases given the opportunity.

Chiropractic Care is one of the ways you can increase your internal healing power by ensuring the brain/body connection is free and clear of obstructions.

If your spine is out of alignment and cannot clearly talk with your brain then your problems will continue.

How chiropractic care helps plagiocephaly

How chiropractic care helps plagiocephaly

Chiropractic care is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly those affecting the spine. Plagiocephaly, or flat head syndrome, is a condition that affects infants and young children, characterized by an abnormal flattening of the head.

While there are several different causes of plagiocephaly, including premature birth, torticollis, and multiple births, one of the most common causes is spending too much time lying on one’s back. This is often a result of modern parenting practices, such as the recommendation to place infants on their backs to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Chiropractic care can be an effective treatment for plagiocephaly, as it focuses on restoring proper alignment and movement to the spine and surrounding muscles. By doing so, chiropractic care can help to correct the underlying musculoskeletal issues that contribute to flat head syndrome and promote proper development of the head and neck.

In this article, we’ll explore how chiropractic care can help treat plagiocephaly, and what you can expect during a chiropractic appointment.

What is Plagiocephaly?

Plagiocephaly is a condition in which the head becomes abnormally flattened on one side or at the back. This can occur for a number of reasons, including:

  • Spending too much time lying on one side of the head
  • Limited movement of the head due to muscular or skeletal abnormalities
  • Premature birth or other factors that affect the growth and development of the skull

While plagiocephaly is generally not harmful, it can lead to cosmetic concerns and in some cases, affect the development of the brain if left untreated.

How Does Chiropractic Care Help?

Chiropractic care can help to treat plagiocephaly by addressing the underlying musculoskeletal issues that contribute to the condition. This may include:

  1. Adjustments to the spine and neck

Chiropractic adjustments involve using gentle, targeted force to realign the spine and restore proper movement to the surrounding muscles and tissues. By doing so, chiropractic care can help to relieve tension and pressure on the neck and head, promoting proper growth and development.

  1. Soft tissue therapy

Chiropractors may also use soft tissue therapy, such as massage or stretching, to help release tension and promote proper movement of the muscles and tissues in the neck and head.

  1. Recommendations for repositioning and head support

Chiropractors may also provide recommendations for repositioning and head support, such as using specialized pillows or repositioning techniques to reduce the amount of time an infant spends lying on one side of the head.

What to Expect During a Chiropractic Appointment for Plagiocephaly

If you’re considering chiropractic care for plagiocephaly, here’s what you can expect during a typical appointment:

  1. Evaluation

Your chiropractor will begin by evaluating your child’s spine, neck, and head to determine the underlying musculoskeletal issues contributing to plagiocephaly.

  1. Treatment

Based on their evaluation, your chiropractor may use a combination of spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and recommendations for repositioning and head support to help treat your child’s plagiocephaly.

  1. Follow-up

Your chiropractor may recommend follow-up appointments to monitor your child’s progress and adjust their treatment plan as needed.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe for Infants?

Chiropractic care is generally considered safe for infants when performed by a licensed and experienced chiropractor. However, it’s important to choose a chiropractor who has experience working with infants and young children, as they may require specialized techniques and equipment.

Additionally, parents should always communicate openly with their chiropractor and pediatrician to ensure that their child’s treatment

While chiropractic care can be an effective treatment for plagiocephaly, it’s important to choose the right chiropractor for you and your child’s needs.

Here are some tips for finding the best chiropractor near Sydney:

  1. Do Your Research

Start by researching local chiropractors in your area, using keywords such as “chiropractor near me” or “best chiropractor near Sydney.” Look for reviews and testimonials from other patients, as well as information about their experience and qualifications.

  1. Check Their Credentials

Make sure that the chiropractor you choose is licensed and certified to practice in your area. You can check with your state’s chiropractic board or the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to verify their credentials.

  1. Ask About Their Experience

Ask the chiropractor about their experience working with infants and young children, and what specific techniques and equipment they use. A good chiropractor should be able to explain their treatment approach in detail and answer any questions you may have.

  1. Schedule a Consultation

Once you’ve narrowed down your options, schedule a consultation with the chiropractor to discuss your child’s needs and treatment options. This will give you a chance to get to know the chiropractor and see if you feel comfortable with their approach.

By taking these steps and choosing the right chiropractor for your child’s needs, you can help ensure safe and effective treatment for plagiocephaly.

Chiropractic Care For Children: Controversies and Issues

The History Of Chiropractic

Chiropractic care is a completely natural, non-surgical, drug-free, painless treatment that is as comfortable as the massage. It is popular in Europe, America, and Australia.

Its originator is the American Doctor of Chiropractic D. D. Palmer. In 1895, based on the principles of human vertebrae and nervous system, he implemented a kind of chiropractic therapy which is like the ancient Chinese “massage” and “bruises”. The method is based on the deviation of the human spine, using different sitting and lying positions, and various techniques, pain relief and therapeutic effects can be achieved within a few minutes.

Chiropractic is to use the natural healing method to correct the spine, so that the nerves are no longer violated, and the original function is restored, which is the most gentle and effective method to fundamentally treat the disease.

In children, chiropractic is also commonly used as primary or complementary therapy for non musculoskeletal conditions such as infantile colic, enuresis, asthma, recurrent otitis media, and illness prevention. In Australia, more than 30,000 paediatric patients (0-18 years old) accept chiropractic treatment every week. There is a chiropractors association of Australia, having superior Sydney chiropractors, Melbourn chiropractors, etc.

What Conditions Do Chiropractic Treat For Children? Chiropractor Near Me

If the spine is misaligned, it will affect the nervous system of the human body, thereby affecting the health of the human body, which is the source of various diseases.

The spinal nerves are distributed to the whole human body. Therefore, abnormal changes in a certain part of the spine will affect the spinal cord and organs. The dysfunction of vertebral body joints and internal organs can cause a series of discomforts in the human body, such as dizziness, headache, ear infections, insomnia, or gynaecological functional diseases.

During the development of children, due to improper exercise, sports injuries, abnormal posture, and habits, it is very easy to cause vertebral subluxation. Scoliosis is a disease that is harmful to children’s health, which seriously affects the normal development of infants and children. Children under 12 years old have the best age to treat.

Spinal manipulation was, by far, the most common form of manipulative therapy, followed by exercises, soft tissue treatment, and postural and nutritional counselling.

Chiropractors need to master a wide range of knowledge about the chiropractic profession to provide treatment for different patients, meeting the demands of the patient. All Australian chiropractors abide by a national Code of Conduct to ensure best practice and maintain the highest level of professional competence and ethics within the scope of practice.

Increasing parents treat manual therapies as the important care of children. Chiropractors can play an active role in monitoring development, motor skills, and wellbeing through assessments.

(Reference from https://www.chiro.org.au/patients/about-chiropractic/chiro-and-kids/)

Parents often take their children to chiropractic therapy for the reason of building up their body and improving their development, as it can benefit their brain, spine, and nerves, bringing them better performance in school and community.

Why Should We Take Our Children To Chiropractic? Chiropractor Near Me

Chiropractic care can help children in many aspects. The most important benefit is to maintain the health growth of the spine system. A Healthy spine system can enable children to avoid some diseases caused by Scoliosis. It also helps children keep away from the slouching posture especially when they spend increasing time in front of TV, computers, and video games.

Some studies also show that children who receive the scheduled chiropractic treatment have better immune systems than those who do not. Children are vulnerable, and they easily get sick in an external environment. The former has less chance to be ill when in contact with others in public places. It can help children be healthier and stronger when growing.

When it comes to infants’ colic, chiropractic care also has effective results of treating. It can reduce the frequency and time of infants crying every day. And the colic also helps to heal earlier.

Parents also seek help from chiropractors to relieve the symptoms of asthma and allergies when treating children. They find that nutritional counselling is much helpful instead of taking alternative medicine obeying the medical doctor.

Children who are hard to be concentrated at or focusing on things may find positive effects from chiropractic care. They tend to have peace of mind when having spinal manipulative therapy, which enables them to concentrate on what they are doing both at school and home.

Children may have scoliosis when being born or developing. Attentive parents may find that their children’s shoulders are too high, or the hips are too low resulting in ill-fitting clothing. A comprehensive chiropractic examination can help detect scoliosis early. In this way, corrective action can begin with a specific chiropractic adjustment plan.

Quality evidence also shows chiropractic treatment is helpful for children’s sleep. Sleep plays an important role in the growth of children. Insomnia will lead to lower performance at school, slower reaction time and mental health disorders. Spinal manipulation can help children to relax their tight muscles and release mild to moderate back or neck pain, leading to a good quality sleeping.

Controversies And Issues

Although there are many benefits of chiropractic care, there is no conclusive scientific evidence and systematic reviews to support the actual function of treating children with certain diseases. There is no specific research of randomized controlled trials monitoring the long term effect of the chiropractic treatment for infants and children. Some parents may be concerned about the non-effect of chiropractic care, wasting their money. Some of them even think that it may be harmful to their children.

In fact, chiropractic brings different results according to different conditions. It is common for children to have chiropractic care in Australia. If parents tend to choose chiropractic treatment for their children, they should select a suitable and efficient therapy and approaches to help children.

Families who seek health care from chiropractors should have a deep communication with their chiropractors. After the conversation, parents can be fully informed and be able to make the decisions.

Further, some related studies should be published to provide scientific evidence of chiropractic care for children. When facing diverse conditions of paediatric patients, it is essential to have quality research for parents to refer to.

Chiropractic Management Of Otitis media-middle ear infection

What Is Otitis Media (OM)?

Otitis media is one of the most common prevalent conditions of childhood. The inflammation and infection of the middle ear normally occur after upper respiratory tract infection.

AOM can cause ear pain, trouble hearing and sleeping. Young children always tug or pull at their affected ears. Chronic OM can eventually result in hearing loss. There are different types of OM that list below:

Types of OM:

  • Acute Otitis media (AOM)
  • OM with effusion (OME)
  • Chronic suppurative OM with or without cholesteatoma

Based on the types of OM, several medical interventions can be used, including antibiotic use, tympanostomy tube insertion and chiropractic treatment.

Antibiotic use for OM

In clinical practice guidelines for AOM, the majority of AOM cases in children will spontaneously resolve and antibiotics are not recommended. However, if symptoms are not improved at 48 hours, first-line antibiotics – amoxycillin is used for AOM. Antibiotic prescription for AOM in Australia for 1 to 4 years old between 2011 and 2015 accounts for 80%.

Although some data show that antibiotics may be useful for children who are younger than 2 years old with AOM, adverse effects of antibiotic use including diarrhoea, vomiting, oral thrush or skin rash should take into account. Also, the use of antibiotics leads to antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Tympanostomy tube (also known as Grommet)

A tympanostomy tube (TT) is used for a patient with a history of chronic otitis media in order to reduce the frequency of middle ear infections and improve hearing. TT is placed in the tympanic membrane for fluid drainage in the middle ear. Different shapes, materials and sizes of TT are selected according to particular pathology.

Surgical treatment is provided as an option if patients have a history of at least 3 episodes of AOM in the last 6 months or 4 episodes in the last year. For children who are over 4 years old, concomitant adenoidectomy is recommended with TT insertion.

TT placement may not benefit all children with chronic otitis media. A study has found that the watchful waiting strategy is an effective treatment for those who have recurrent AOM and TTinsertion is not necessary. Furthermore, more research has revealed patients with TT insertion had a higher risk of future surgery for chronic ear diseases compared to those without grommet insertion.

Chiropractic management of OM

Chiropractic care is safe, effective and has no adverse effect on OM compared to the use of antibiotics and TT placement. Paediatric chiropractors use pneumatic otoscopy, which is an instrument to examine the mobility of the tympanic membrane, to confirm the diagnosis and stage of OM. Bulging and inflamed tympanic membrane can be normally seen and reduced mobility of the tympanic membrane with pneumatic otoscopy

Physical examination such as checking liver size is vital to distinguish the type of infection (bacterial infection or viral infection) and monitor the progress of OM. In general, OM caused by viral infection leads to an enlarged liver.

Tensor veli palatini is a muscle to assist the eustachian tube opening when swallowing or yawning to equalize the pressure between the tympanic cavity and the atmospheric pressure. A negative pressure is developed and the fluid is built up in the middle ear when the dysfunction of the eustachian tube persists due to OM.

Spinal manipulation can correct cervical subluxation which repairs the function of tensor veli palatini muscle to encourage the opening of the eustachian tube. It can improve the drainage of fluid retention and the equalization of air pressure in the tympanic cavity.

Paediatric chiropractors will also recommend some supplements to boost the immune system function of children with OM. Patients will have a lower risk of recurrent OM and much faster recovery.

What Can A Chiropractor Treat Babies And How?

Although benefits of chiropractic care are numerous, many parents are worried that chiropractic treatments are dangerous for children. By understanding what a chiropractor can treat babies and how, parents can get to know more about whether chiropractic care is safe and whether their babies are suitable for chiropractic care.

How chiropractors treat babies? Chiropractor Near Me

Chiropractors use a range of techniques to make treatments for their patients. One of the most common chiropractic treatments is spinal manipulative therapy. In this treatment, the vertebrae in the spine are adjusted with the help of the accurate and hands-on techniques by chiropractors. These adjustments aim at spinal joints and are designed to create more space for the joints to move.

The cracking sound of spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) is the most common reason to make some people uneasy about chiropractic care. That unique audible sound is just a joint gas released by the collapse of joint bubbles, just like when you crack your knuckles. Chiropractors also combine with other therapies such as massage, activator method and at-home exercises, to treat the spinal subluxations or any other musculoskeletal issues that are bringing about trouble for patients, such as the knee or wrist.

When it comes to treating newborn babies, chiropractic treatment is much broader than spinal manipulative therapy (SMT). For babies and older children, hands-on therapy is modified to a smaller amplitude, often including gentle touch and chiropractic, stretching and exercise. This kind of therapy is less likely to cause disturbing bursts of sound.

Parents who take their children to chiropractic care centre often seek help after an injury, such as getting into a collision while playing football or falling off playground equipment. Chiropractors will do some stretching exercises and practical adjustments to children’s knees and legs. Although chiropractic care is not a pain killer, it does alleviate children’s discomfort or other symptoms such as sleep issues.

Some parents take their children to chiropractors for conditions that have no obvious connection to the spine, such as asthma, autism and ADHD. These conditions are not part of a chiropractor’s job description, because chiropractors’ clinical expertise is in assessing, diagnosing and treating the spine, muscles and nervous system.

Chiropractors may not make full use of the benefits of spinal manipulation and utilize it to treat the diseases directly. However, chiropractors can give advice such as the use of supplements and the change of lifestyle to parents to improve these conditions.

What can a chiropractor treat? Chiropractor Near Me

Although the University of British Columbia concluded that chiropractic for children under the age of ten will not pose a significant risk, in October 2018 a policy very clearly outlined that chiropractors should not represent to the public that chiropractic has any beneficial effects on childhood diseases, disorder or conditions such as attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorders. Other provincial regulators across Canada do not specify on their websites whether their members can claim to treat these or other childhood illnesses.

But if your child has attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) , or your baby suffers from colic, you may be well-prepared for trying anything that might help. And it is not difficult to find a chiropractor willing to try.

Some studies showed infants with colicky pain in chiropractic care had improved the duration of crying. However, the effect is not strong enough. Since there is limited evidence, more research is required to be conducted.

“Finding research to support chiropractic care is really challenging, because most studies have been done on adults.” Says Marc Halligan, a chiropractor who has many clients that are children.

He also points out that those who work in the healthcare industry often prescribe medication for ADHD or other diseases to their children and is accepted. However, the idea that a chiropractor is doing something gentle, safe, effective to try to help a child makes them worried. “This is a double standard.” Marc says.

Marc says that he has seen a lot of things that work well for chiropractic. Problems such as colic, ear infections and bed-wetting are improved even if chiropractic does not treat those problems. Marc believes it is important for parents to understand that chiropractic does not replace medicine.

This is not to diagnose or treat any disease, but it can check for imbalances in their child’s spine and nervous system. If the imbalance is identified and corrected, the child’s body will be better able to adapt and repair itself.

Baby chiropractic care: Is it safe for infants and babies?

What are the benefits of it?

We can all reach an agreement that babies are little more than short humans. If adults can gain a lot of benefits from chiropractic care, so can babies and infants. If your baby has digestive problem and sleeping problem, your pediatrician may suggest baby chiropractic care.

What is baby chiropractic care? Chiropractor Near Me

Good health care is of primary importance for young children and older children. And baby chiropractic care is regarded as a good way to solve the problems of digestion, sleeping and ear infection in infants and children. It is an alternative of medicine that focuses on the treatment of the whole musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. This kind of treatment involves spinal manipulative adjustment, in which paediatric chiropractors use their hands to exert control over the spinal joints. Another method uses an activator, a small and hand-held device that can deliver a controllable impulse to baby’s spine.

Is baby chiropractic care safe? Chiropractor Near Me

Worrying about chiropractic care for infants is very natural for parents, because adjusting as an adult means a lot of stress and rifts. However, paediatric chiropractors do not apply the same method to adjusting infants as they do for adults. Instead, the adjustments to babies are gentle and often ignored by babies.

How can chiropractic care benefit your infant? Chiropractor Near Me

A doctor of chiropractic is one of the health professionals that has the title of doctor but is different from a medical doctor. He or she is highly-trained to make adjustments and gentle manipulations to restore the nervous system of the young baby. Chiropractic adjustments and manipulations are applied to help the baby’s body perform its functions in a more efficient way. The primary issue is not only for short-term relief but also for long-term recovery.

When it comes to the care of infants, chiropractors have successfully treated problems such as infantile colic, infantile torticollis breastfeeding difficulties, digestive issues, developmental delay, spinal subluxation and ear infection. After baby chiropractic care, the nervous system of your baby is restored and then your baby can eat and sleep very well.

During the process of chiropractic treatment, chiropractors make gentle adjustments and apply moderate pressure to the child’s body. The chiropractic care is safe because it is done by chiropractors with lots of training before.

What are the benefits of chiropractic care for infants? Chiropractor Near Me

1. Making adjustment of dislocated spine or joints

Some babies were born with subluxated spinal segments because they had got used to a small space in the womb before, and chiropractic treatment can help their spines quickly return to normal function. Many babies adapted to the new environment as soon as they were born, while others adapted to the new environment weeks later. If a baby needs help, the chiropractor will gently adjust the baby’s deviated spine or joints while relieving tension.

2. Helping after-birth recovery

According to some research, during baby’s birth process, as much as seventy pounds of pressure is applied to a baby’s head and neck. This pushing and pulling can damage the nerves and joints of a baby’s body. Although most babies can recover on their own, some babies need chiropractic care to help them recover from the birth injuries.

Not only after birth, chiropractic care can also help with other related problems that may arise during a baby’s growth. Some babies are very fussy, some don’t sleep well at night, and some suffer ear pain and infections at early time. Chiropractors attribute these problems to spinal subluxation, and proper adjustments can help babies sleep better at night and grow better. Also, babies can be more enjoyable during tummy time.

3. Promoting immune system

Chiropractic therapy can improve physical function in infants, and has a direct and indirect improvement on their immune system. The nervous system throughout the body is the main delivery system, and any problems with the spine and muscles can lead to abnormal body functions, such as ear infections and gastrointestinal function. So if babies can be adjusted at an early time, they are better able to fight off infections and allergens around them.
