What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is an alternative medicine focusing on musculoskeletal disorder diagnosis and treatment, especially related to the spine. Expert chiropractors employ techniques like spinal manipulation to alleviate pain and improve function.
Benefits of Chiropractic Care:
Some benefits of chiropractic care include improved joint mobility, reduced inflammation, and improved nervous system function. Chiropractic care can also help improve posture and range of motion, and may be useful in treating conditions such as sciatica and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Addressing Common Health Concerns and Conditions Treated:
Common health concerns and conditions treated by chiropractors include but are not limited to:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches and migraines
- Shoulder pain
- Knee pain
- Sciatica
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Sports injuries
- Arthritis
- Whiplash
Chiropractors often use spinal manipulation as a technique to address these conditions. They may also work in conjunction with massage therapists and podiatrists to provide comprehensive care for their patients.
Cervical and Lumbar Manipulations
Spinal Manipulation - Diversified Technique:
The diversified technique is a common spinal manipulation technique used by chiropractors. It involves a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust to the spine to help restore joint function and alleviate pain. This technique is often used for conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches.
Chiropractors may also work with massage therapists and podiatrists to provide comprehensive care for their patients. Massage therapy can help reduce muscle tension and improve circulation, while podiatrists can address foot and ankle issues that may be contributing to a patient’s pain or discomfort.

What to Expect During Chiropractic Treatment:
During chiropractic treatment, the chiropractor will perform a physical exam and may refer you to take X-rays or other diagnostic tests to assess your condition. They will then use a variety of techniques, such as spinal manipulation, manual therapy, and massage, to help alleviate pain and improve function. You may also be given exercises or stretches to do at home to help maintain your progress and prevent future injuries.
After Chiropractic Care:
The effects of chiropractic care vary depending on the individual and the specific treatment received. Some people may feel immediate relief from symptoms such as pain or stiffness, while others may experience mild soreness or fatigue. In some cases, it may only last for a few hours, while in others it may persist for a few days. However, it is generally a temporary side effect and should subside on its own.

Chiropractic Care for All Ages, Including Pregnant Women:
Chiropractic care can be safe and effective for people of all ages, including pregnant women. However, it is important to discuss any concerns or underlying health conditions with your chiropractor before beginning treatment. Certain conditions, such as osteoporosis, may require modifications to the techniques used during treatment.
For pregnant women, chiropractic care can help alleviate common pregnancy-related discomforts such as back pain, sciatica, and pelvic pain. Chiropractors may use techniques such as the Webster technique, which is specifically designed to help optimize pelvic alignment and function during pregnancy.
