Dry Needling

Dry needling is  a  broad term used  to  differentiate “non-injection”  needling from the practice of “injection needling” which utilises a hyperdermic syringe and usually involves the injection of an agent such as saline, local anaesthetic or corticosteroid into the tissue or specific anatomical structures .

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine mostly concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine.

A chiropractor is a health care professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustment and/or manipulation of the spine.

Most chiropractors seek to reduce pain and improve the functionality of patients as well as to educate them on how they can account for their own health via exercise, ergonomics and other therapies to treat back pain.

Massage

Massage is the manipulation of soft tissues in the body.

Massage is perhaps one of the oldest healing traditions. Many ancient peoples – including the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese and Indians – were convinced of the therapeutic properties of massage and used it to treat a variety of ailments.

Massage therapy (including myotherapy) is the practice of kneading or manipulating a person’s muscles and other soft-tissue in order to improve their wellbeing or health. It is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving, and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.

The term ‘massage therapy’ is used to describe a wide variety of techniques that vary in the manner in which touch, pressure and the intensity of the treatment is applied.

Massage for treatment of some disorders

Research indicates that massage and myotherapy are effective in managing:

  • subacute/chronic low back pain
  • delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)
  • anxiety
  • stress
  • soft tissue injuries
  • high blood pressure
  • insomnia.

They can also be effectively used to support people with:

  • a chronic disease
  • a life threatening illness such as cancer.

Benefits of massage

One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing.

Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenalin, cortisol and norepinephrine, are also reduced. Studies indicate that high levels of stress hormones impair the immune system.

Some of the physical benefits of massage and myotherapy include:

  • reduced muscle tension
  • improved circulation
  • stimulation of the lymphatic system
  • reduction of stress hormones
  • relaxation
  • increased joint mobility and flexibility
  • improved skin tone
  • improved recovery of soft tissue injuries
  • heightened mental alertness
  • reduced anxiety and depression.

What our clients say

With Brian, I’ve received friendly and professional chronic lower back pain treatment. This was accompanied by a proper scientific explanation. In 3 days I could recover and practice my daily activities and I was nearly fully recovered in 7 days. This gentleman is a genuine chiropractor.

Eias

I had a really good experience under Brian’s watch. I came to him having a really bad lower back pain. I literally couldn’t bend over, not even an inch. He took his time assessing my condition, rather than just go straight away with the chiropractic treatment. He made sure it was ok to proceed with the management of my back pain. He has a careful, reassuring approach to his clients that made me feel safe, and he is more than willing to address any questions I may have had during the course of the therapy. A couple of sessions after, I felt so much better.  I would definitely recommend him for a job well done! Thank you Brian!

Albert

Thanks for my chiropractor Brian! He did an excellent job with my disc herniation. The one who could treat my acute pain instantly. I went to so many others, none of them can do as good as him.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a safe, gentle, drug-free, non-invasive method to treat many conditions. Therefore, chiropractic care is not only for adults, but also beneficial to babies, pregnant women and the elderly.

Through complete history taking and physical assessment, sometimes imaging is needed, we can make a precise diagnosis for the cause of your pain and customise your treatment. In a Chiropractic treatment, multiple modalities are utilized. Each treatment is individualised according to patient’s age, condition, complication and preference. Even though the same conditions, treatment methods will not be the same.

Manipulations which is one of the common modalities have been proven that its efficacy is as effective as Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for certain conditions such as lower back pain and headaches. Moreover, any causes (e.g. poor posture, repetitive movements and injuries) result in misalignment in the spine. Manipulations can remove the spinal interference to restore affected joints and tissues mobility and optimise the interactions between the spine and nervous system.
